Coming along...

Well,  a week since I started, a life time in blog land! Changes are afoot, externally, internally. It's all good. I have lost one and half kilos, but then got dressed...Still, I'm taking it as a victory.! ;)

I'm starting to remember I have bones, muscles, sinews, tendons; all things that LIKE to stretch and move. I picked up toys today, using a stance that gave a a full hamstring stretch. Some what painful, but so exhilarating.

Things are making more sense.
I read an article today that said that many overweight people are actually malnourished, as they simply don't eat what their body needs in the way of micro nutrients. Imagine the frustration of feeling you are never eating well enough, that the thoughtless food you chose gave you nothing...I don't want to feel that any more. I want each meal to count towards increasing my life, not robbing it.

Planning seems to be the key. Choosing more fruit and vege in the mundane day time meals. Don't get so busy that choosing thoughtfully is too hard. Choices, choosing well, it's a grown up thing. Does this mean I'm growing up ?

Starting somewhere

Hi, you don't know me, but I could be you, I could be a bunch of other blogs you have read. I am just another person marking a place in my journey, so that the place is marked, and therefore doesn't just disappear...

I, like many others, want a life that is greater than life is now. I want to fully be the person that I am, I want to grab life with gusto and fill my hands full.  You know, maybe I'm not now, maybe I'm not.

That is about to change...because today I ran up and down my front stairs 6 times.
I HAVE started a journey to my half marathon.
I am not fit, I am fat. I am pretty lazy. I am fond of food. I am fond of easy, thoughtless food.

I refuse to diet, so I must find another way to take back the bits of my life I have relinquished to uncaring, thoughtless, stressed and uninspired choices.

This is a blog of my journey from here to somewhere better.
Yes, I will lose weight, so for those of you wanting to follow a weight loss blog; Hi.
Yes, I will get fit, so to the walkers, the runners, and the swimmers who love action blogs; Hi to you also.

Ultimately, though this blog is not about weight loss or fitness.
This blog is about who I want to become through the process.

I have seen many people lose weight and gain it all back on as the true change never comes.
I do not want this. When I lose this weight that has been my companion for 10 years, I will lose it forever. How that is going to play out is really what this blog is; a story of transformation -  mind, spirit, and soul, so the changes made become permanent and real.
My knees will thank me, as will my heart, and my children.
